Your first recording,
ready to share.

Install Slipreel, capture what matters, and give your recording a little polish. Here’s how to get started.

Download for Mac macOS 13+ · Intel & Apple Silicon

Install and grant permissions

Download Slipreel for macOS, open the disk image, and drag Slipreel into Applications. Open it from Applications. Slipreel requires macOS 13 or later on an Intel or Apple Silicon Mac.

Allow Screen Recording when prompted. Enable microphone or camera access if you plan to use them. If macOS asks you to restart Slipreel after changing a permission, quit and reopen it.

Record your Mac screen with audio

Choose a display, window, or region. Select your microphone, system audio, and camera as needed, then start recording. Make a short test recording first to check that your intended audio sources are included.

Can I record the microphone and system audio separately?

Yes. Slipreel captures microphone and system audio as separate tracks. In the editor, adjust each track’s volume or mute it independently; export combines them into the finished video.

Edit zooms, cursor styling, and captions

Stop recording to open the editor. Trim the timeline, adjust zoom and cursor styling, pick a background or device frame, and preview the result.

How do I add captions without uploading audio?

Open the captions controls and start generation. The first use downloads a roughly 488 MB speech model; subsequent transcription runs on your Mac without uploading your audio.

Export and share

Choose Export, select MP4 or GIF, and save to a new file. GIF exports are limited to 60 seconds of edited content. Open the exported file to check the result, then attach it in your preferred sharing app.

You can record and edit without a time limit and try three full-quality exports free. For unlimited exports, choose a paid plan. Verify your email before checkout. In Slipreel, choose Sign in and open the emailed link to activate this Mac. A license supports two Macs; manage them in your account.

Licensing and updates

The supported download archive starts at 1.0.13. Installers 1.0.0–1.0.12 are withdrawn. Contact support if your one-time license does not cover a supported release.

Paid licenses, including one-time purchases, need an internet connection at least every 14 days to renew activation. A one-time license includes one year of updates. After that, use an eligible version or choose an optional paid renewal. Sign in on the downloads page to find releases covered by your license.

Billing changes

A full refund removes access from the refunded purchase; partial refunds retain access. An open payment dispute suspends the affected purchase while it is resolved. Past-due subscriptions have seven days of grace; canceled or unpaid subscriptions lose access. Changes reach the app when it checks online, or when its saved activation expires within 14 days.
