Cleaner recordings and more reliable sign-in.

• The recording controls no longer appear in screen and region recordings.
• Clicking Sign in or Unlock export again while you wait for the email no longer invalidates the link already on its way.

Cancel is easier to find while choosing a recording source.

• The window and screen picker places Cancel directly beneath the red Record button for the selected source.
• Cancel stays reachable when moving away from a small window, and remains visible in the center before a source is selected.

Clearer setup and easier window recording.

• Accessibility setup now shows a guide beside System Settings, and onboarding gives a clearer next step when setup is done.
• Window selection shows the correct upright app icon and title, prefers the frontmost overlapping window, and lets you choose another window from the same app with Tab.
• The recording bar has a close button that hides it without quitting Slipreel. Click the Dock icon to bring it back.

Easier recording setup and a clearer way to start again.

• The window and screen picker now has a visible Cancel button, and Escape reliably closes the selection overlay.
• The editor has a labeled New recording button that returns to the recording bar after saving your edits.
• Clipboard exports now recover when their cache folder is missing.

License-aware startup and clearer required updates.

• Startup now checks license coverage before opening the editor, so the app can guide you to the newest release your license supports.
• Required updates stay visible above app navigation and include a retry path when the updater cannot complete immediately.

Cleaner dialogs around compact recording controls.

Modal actions no longer try to fit inside the compact recorder window. They open in an appropriately sized app window, keeping controls readable and usable.

Dialogs designed for the desktop.

Bottom sheets have been replaced with centered desktop dialogs, so confirmations and account actions feel at home on macOS.

• Project edits save more reliably, with visible save status and retry controls. Closing the editor or app waits for pending saves.
• Feedback confirms whether delivery succeeded or was queued, and keeps your draft when sending fails.
• Usage and diagnostic reporting preserve account boundaries across sign-in and sign-out, with clearer privacy descriptions in onboarding and Settings.

Activating your license now feels like a proper welcome: a brief animated confirmation, a clear unlimited-export status, and a “Let’s create” button to return to the app.

The new confirmation respects reduced motion and enlarged text. Account management remains one click away.

Recording and export

• Safer exports protect source recordings and preserve existing destination files if export fails or is canceled.
• Crash recovery preserves microphone and system-audio tracks and checks recovered media before removing the original.
• GIF limits and export estimates now follow the edited timeline, including trims and speed changes. Clipboard export copies a file that supported apps can paste.

Accounts and activation

• License checks refresh while Slipreel is open and when you return to the app. Update checks explain one-time license compatibility and link to eligible downloads.
• Checkout verifies your email, preserves your Mac activation details when you cancel and retry, and waits for payment confirmation before activating. Sign-in and checkout pages no longer load analytics.

Installer withdrawn. This entry is retained as release history. The supported download archive starts at 1.0.13.

This release includes the screen recording and editing workflow, MP4 and GIF export, and on-device caption generation.
